Hyundai R260LC-9S tracked excavators – available exclusively in Southern Africa from HPE Africa – cope efficiently in harsh operating conditions in many industries, including construction, civil engineering, mining and quarrying.
The robust Hyundai R260LC-9S excavator series – with an operating weight of 25,2 Tons and a bucket digging force of 0.60 ~ 1.50m³ – is commended globally for fuel-efficiency, dependable operation in tough conditions, enhanced safety onsite, minimal maintenance requirements and extended service life.
“What’s impressive about the Hyundai 9S series is that operators are able to fully customise their work environment and easily adjust operating preferences, to suit their individual needs and tasks,”
explains Ross Collard, Managing Director, HPE Africa, part of the Capital Equipment Group (CEG) of Invicta Holdings Limited. “The engine and hydraulic horsepower work in unison through an advanced CAPO (Computer Aided Power Optimisation) system, to control flow for every application. At the touch of a button, operators can select their own preferences for boom or swing priority, power mode and optional work tools. The CAPO system also provides complete self-diagnostic features and digital gauges for critical information, including hydraulic oil temperature, water temperatures and fuel level. This system interfaces with multiple sensors placed throughout the hydraulic system, as well as hydraulic flow.”
“Operators are also able to easily select the correct power mode for specific applications. For example, P (Power Max) mode maximises machine speed and power for mass production. S (Standard) mode provides a reduced, fixed rpm for optimum performance, greater control and improved fuel economy. E (Economy) mode provides precise flow and engine power, based on load demand. By using the versatile U (User) mode, the operator can customise engine speed, pump output, idle speed and other precise machine settings for the specific job.”
Safety on site and improved operator comfort were other important factors in the design of the Hyundai 9S series. The spacious cab is fitted with a larger right-side one-piece glass and a reduced front window seam, for improved visibility.
For greater operator comfort and reduced stress onsite, there is a climate control system, an adjustable seat, a console and armrest settings, to suit personal operating preferences.
The patented hydraulic system of the 9S series has been designed for improved controllability, enhanced efficiencies and smoother operation. Coupled with this, the new auto boom and swing priority system provides optimum speed for each application and the new auto power boost feature provides additional power when required. This series also boasts a new arm-in and boom-down flow regeneration system, for improved speed and operating efficiency.
The pump compartment encompasses powerful Kawasaki designed variable volume in-line axial piston pumps. The new compact solenoid block is equipped with four solenoid valves, an EPPR valve, a check valve accumulator and pilot filter, to control 2-speed travel, power boost, boom priority and a safety lock.
The environmentally-friendly Hyundai HM5.9 engine, with 40% fewer parts than other models, is capable of reaching emission standards, without the need for costly electronic engine controls.
Customers are also impressed with the long undercarriage design – with nine rollers on each side of the machine – to ensure greater stability in challenging operating conditions. Durable track rail guards keep track links in place, while track adjustment is made easy with standard grease cylinder track adjusters and shock absorbing springs.
This series has been designed for effortless maintenance procedures. Ground-line access to critical filters, lube fittings, fuses, machine computer components and wide-open compartments, ensures easy serviceability and reduced maintenance time.
