A new online training module has been added to the increasingly popular NSK Academy online platform. Focused on vibrating screens, the new module is aimed at all those who want to deepen their knowledge of bearings able to withstand the harsh conditions found in mines, quarries and construction sites.
High frequency vibrating screens are among the most important machines used for the separation and classification of different materials in cement works, stone quarries and mines all over the world. Due to the strong intrinsic vibrations, the components installed on these machines must be robust and reliable, especially the bearings.
Selected and correctly mounted bearings provide increased fatigue resistance under vibration and impact loads. For example, a special cage design can minimize resonance from induced vibrations while increasing resistance to thermal effects. In addition, the improved surface finish of rollers and rings reduces the risk of damage caused by slipping, flaking or surface fatigue.
For this very reason NSK Academy has made available on its online platform a new training module to illustrate the fundamental principles that guide the choice of vibrating screen bearings to machinery and plant manufacturers. The contents of the module vary from the functionality of the vibrating screens to the illustration of the main operating parameters and clearly provides basic technical terminology.
The training module is aimed at all employees of vibratory screen manufacturers involved in sales, technical assistance, maintenance, engineering, research and development.
The aim of the NSK Academy is clearly to help participants expand the knowledge they use on a daily basis. Each training course is designed to increase the skill level of the staff and help manufacturers increase profitability by reducing maintenance time, while at the same time they can, if they wish, explore NSK bearing solutions. NSK also recommends that you follow the in-depth course on the bearings used in these applications, with main features, specifications and advantages.
The platform allows you to sign up by creating a personal account and follow advanced training courses through lectures. Courses currently available include an introduction to bearings, a specific course on maintenance and another dedicated to precision bearings for machine tools. In addition to the two dedicated training centres in Guyancourt (France) and Tilburg (Netherlands), training courses can be held at any NSK location in Europe or at the customer’s premises.
As with all training modules published on NSK Academy, registered users following the course must pass the final test with a score of 80% to obtain certification.
