Engcon sums up this year’s major construction industry event, the Conexpo 2020 in Las Vegas, as a resounding success. Represented on stands and with product demonstrations across the entire exhibition with machine manufacturers from some of the industry’s top excavator operators. Engcon took the event by storm and is now primed to conquer the North American market.
Staged between 10 -13th March, this year’s major event in the construction industry, Conexpo 2020, took place in Las Vegas, USA. As one of the world’s largest machinery trade fairs, it attracts nearly 130,000 visitors every three years. For the world-leading tiltrotator manufacturer Engcon, having participated previously, the 2020 event stands out as by far the best in terms of the number of visitors to the stand and the industry attention.
“We can’t be anything but satisfied with this year’s Conexpo. We knew before we came here that interest in Engcon’s products would be great, but perhaps not this extensive. The effort we have made in highlighting our total solutions and their benefits has really produced results. Knowledge among visitors is much greater now than before, which is, of course, positive for us in our processing of the North American market,” says Krister Blomgren, CEO of Engcon.
Test-driving was extremely popular with visitors to the stand
As in previous years, Engcon showed off its tiltrotators – the quick hitch Q-safe and the automatic mounting system with EC-Oil. Everything was demonstrated live on an excavator operated by Engcon’s own staff. A novelty for this year’s Conexpo was that visitors had the opportunity to test the Engcon tiltrotator and tools themselves on excavators at the stand. This was very much appreciated and drew many people to Engcon’s stand.
“We have invested a lot in pedagogy this year, which seems to have hit home. To have the opportunity to test our products is, of course, invaluable and the excavator operators we talked to agreed with that. It doesn’t take much time in the cab to get a sense of how flexible, smooth and safe work will be with a tiltrotator attached,” says Anders Smith, Region Director at Engcon.
In addition to the exhibition and demonstrations at its own stand, Engcon’s tiltrotators and tools were shown across several other machine manufacturers’ stands. Among others, visitors could see Engcon-equipped excavators in Doosan’s, Hyundai’s, John Deere’s and Kobelco’s stands.
“The increased interest from the world’s machine manufacturers clearly shows that our products are becoming part of the excavators,” Anders Smith continues.
Major opportunities for Engcon
There was a continual stream of interested contractors and excavator operators who wanted to test-drive a tiltrotator during the four-day event. With many new contacts made, Engcon is now looking forward to further developing the North American market.
“The potential of this market is huge for us and we see excellent opportunities for good growth here in the coming years. The market is becoming increasingly mature and with our sales office in North Haven, Connecticut, we have a great opportunity of making an impression among the potential customers,” concludes Anders Smith.
