Kohler Completes the Range Unveiling New R550C5 Compact Rental Genset

Visitors will be able to walk around a R110C5, flagship product of the Stage V range, at Bauma, Hall A5 – Stand 225.

KOHLER Power Systems has released the R550C5 rental compact genset with Stage V compliance – meaning that Kohler’s complete rental genset product line now complies with European regulation 2016/1628 EU Stage V on polluting emissions.

This latest generation engine is integrated into the M5228 module of the Rental Compact range to create mobile generating sets dedicated to demanding rental applications, providing 500 kVA PRP / 550 kVA ESP, while ensuring a reduction in its polluting emissions at the level of the new Stage V standard in force.

The R550C5 is a six-cylinder engine built with a high-pressure common-rail fuel system and full-authority electronic controls. In addition to its DOC and DPF exhaust filters, it uses a proven PowerTech Plus technology with series turbochargers and an optimized SCR system.

The complete range of seven Rental Compact gensets, equipped with Stage V engines and RoHS2 compliant, deliver a significant drop in emission levels, especially in terms of NOx and microparticles. The series uses KOHLER and John Deere engines with low fuel consumption. This results in low operating costs, especially for gensets providing continuous power production. The power range starts with the KOHLER engines driving a 20 kVA to 50 kVA generator set. For higher power capacity, this range offers John Deere engines for generator sets with a 110 kVA to 550 kVA.
