Excellent offer for construction applications
The DAF XDC and XFC construction trucks share their DNA with the multiple award-winning New Generation DAF XD, XF, XG and XG⁺ truck series, which have been awarded ‘International Truck of the Year’ in two successive years.
The XDC and the XFC feature two-, three- and four-axle vehicles and are available with single or double drive. Both the XDC and XFC are specifically designed for the toughest work in harsh conditions.
The DAF XDC and XFC models offer a large approach angle of 25o and high ground clearance of 33 to 39 cm – depending on the specification. DAF’s construction trucks have a sturdy design, with a robust 3-piece steel bumper, a grille with black strips, and a steel radiator protection plate as standard. Both vehicles offer the ideal platform for tippers, concrete mixers, hook lifts and other specialist bodywork.
The new standard in efficiency Like their siblings for on-road applications the New Generation XDC and XFC are powered by new PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines with outputs up to 390 kW/530 hp.
All DAF construction vehicles are equipped with a TraXon automated gearbox as standard, featuring a special off-road mode for optimum shifting performance on challenging terrain. Gear changes are extremely quick, including at high engine speeds, to maintain momentum on heavy or hilly terrain. In addition, the XDC and XFC offer automatic drive-off gear selection. New features include ‘ASR Off’ and ‘Rock Free’ to move off in slippery conditions and to facilitate fast rocking to help extricate the vehicle in extremely tough circumstances.
Outstanding bodybuilder-friendliness is supported by the highly flexible lay-out of chassis components, such as the EAS (Exhaust Aftertreatment System), battery box and air tanks, as well as availability of a full range of PTO’s, body attachment modules and connectors.
The new standard in safety
The New Generation DAF XDC and XFC feature the large windscreen and side windows with ultra-low belt lines all New Generation DAF models are praised for, resulting in best-in-class direct vision. As an option, a Kerb View Window is available, which – in combination with the foldable co-driver seat – offers an unobstructed view of pedestrians and cyclists alongside the truck on the co-driver side. Also, the new ‘DAF Vision Dashboard’, which is contoured towards the windscreen on the co-driver’s side and is standard on both XDC and XFC, adds to outstanding direct vision.
For class-leading indirect view, the New Generation DAF XD can be equipped with the DAF Digital Vision System, which replaces the main and wide-angle mirrors. The superior DAF Corner View offers a maximum view of no less than 285 degrees on the area around the cab’s A-pillar on the co-driver’s side.
Also contributing to superior safety is the full LED exterior lighting which is standard on all XDC and XFC versions.
The new standard in drive comfort
First class driver comfort starts with excellent cab accessibility, thanks to well-positioned steps and a steering wheel that can be moved to an upright parking position. Adjustment range for the seats and steering wheel are unprecedented, as is both the spaciousness and storage in the cab. The Day Cab comes as standard with extended interior space. A comfortable third seat or a large fridge are available as ex-factory options.
The New XDC and XFC share the striking dashboard from the rest of the New Generation range, including the fully digital instrument panels. The superior ride & handling benefits from a completely new front-end chassis design and a new cab suspension.
Cooperation with leading body builders
As illustrated at Bauma, DAF Trucks is teaming up with leading body builders to ensure highest quality, efficiency and quickest vehicle availability. Optimally pre-specified truck – superstructure combinations are also speeding up the ordering process, allowing first completely built-up vehicles to be ready for delivery in the first quarter of 2023.
