After the Success at Bauma 2019, the L586 XPower Goes In Action For Meyer Recycling GmbH

At Meyer Recycling GmbH, the subsidiary of Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG from Schönwalde-Glien (Brandenburg, Germany), a special wheel loader recently started operations at the company’s recycling site: the L 586 XPower that Liebherr exhibited at Bauma 2019. At the world’s largest construction machinery trade fair, the wheel loader, with just joystick steering, was a magnet for visitors. Since the fair, Liebherr had been using the L 586 XPower for internal purposes, now the machine – weighing almost 33 tonnes – is recycling building materials for Meyer Recycling GmbH.

At the company’s recycling site in the west of Berlin, the subsidiary of Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co.KG recycles building materials for use in construction projects. Here, the new emission stage V-compliant L 586 XPower which has a 6.50 m³ rear-loading bucket is in operation filling screening plants and loading trucks with processed material.

“Around 30 trucks arrive at our recycling site every hour. With the L 586 XPower, our machine operator only needs two loading cycles to fill a truck,”

explains the company’s founder and managing director, Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Thomas Meyer.

L 586 XPower featuring only joystick steering

In addition to its power-split travel drive, standard in all XPower wheel loaders, the new wheel loader at Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co.KG has another special feature: the new joystick steering for Liebherr wheel loaders. It allows the machine operator to comfortably steer using short movements on the ergonomic joystick. The position of the joystick always corresponds to the respective articulation angle of the wheel loader. The force feedback on the joystick ensures the best possible driving and operating experience.

Because the joystick steering offers the machine operator numerous advantages, the new L 586 XPower at Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG does not need a steering wheel and steering column.

“This gives me a lot more space in the cabin and a great overview. It’s just fun to work with the XPower wheel loader,”

confirms machine operator Ringo Schulz.

Partnership between Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG and Liebherr

In addition to building materials recycling, the range of services offered by Meyer Erdbau GmbH & Co. KG, which was founded in 2006, include in particular structural, underground, special heavy construction, earthworks, dismantling and demolition work of all kinds. The company has a modern fleet of around 60 construction machines at its disposal for this purpose.

These include numerous Liebherr machines, including new Generation 8 crawler excavators as well as wheeled excavators, a duty cycle crawler crane, a crawler loader, crawler tractors and other wheel loaders, such as an L 550 XPower.

“A trusting business relationship has developed with Thomas Meyer and his team over the past few years,”

says a delighted Marcus Morgner, the salesperson responsible at Liebherr-Baumaschinen Vertriebs- und Service GmbH in Berlin.

“The high level of service quality from Liebherr is an important reason for us to regularly invest in products from Liebherr,”

says Thomas Meyer.
